July 15, 2026
ALMIGO corp.(Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Toru Takeuchi; hereinafter referred to as “our company”) is pleased to announce that construction began on June 29, 2026, for “the second YUGAWARA,” an accommodation facility currently under development in Yugawara Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. This facility is planned as the inaugural location for the Company’s “the second” brand.

■ Project Overview
Facility Name: the second YUGAWARA
Location: Yugawara Town, Kanagawa Prefecture
Number of Guest Rooms: 14
Scheduled Opening: Autumn 2027
■ About “the second YUGAWARA”
For “the second YUGAWARA,” we have conceived the project by interpreting the unique local topography—shaped by volcanic activity and erosion into complex undulations and contours—as a form of architecture, translating these features into abstract floor plan and sectional designs.
A stay here offers a chance to surrender to the tranquility of the space, accompanied by the gentle murmur of the Fujiki River, the rustling of trees, and the interplay of shifting light and shadow. The facility features a lounge, bar counter, and mini-library where guests can relax to the soothing sounds of the river, while guest rooms include bathrooms designed to evoke the atmosphere of a traditional *toji* (hot spring cure) retreat. Through simple, everyday rituals—such as brewing tea—we offer an experience that allows guests to step away from the urban bustle and realign their thoughts and senses at their own natural pace.

■ About Yugawara Town
Located just an hour and a half from Tokyo, Yugawara is a town blessed with abundant hot springs and a rich natural environment—assets shaped by the complex topography of the Hakone volcanic zone. A modern station plaza greets visitors upon arrival; as one moves toward the mountains, the scenery shifts to a hot spring district where long-established inns line the mountain stream.
The town boasts a storied past, having been celebrated in the *Man’yoshu* (Japan’s oldest anthology of poetry) and serving as a retreat where numerous literary figures and intellectuals stayed to rest and create works from the Meiji through the Showa eras. We view this unique character of Yugawara—where topography, daily life, and culture overlap seamlessly—as a quintessential Japanese landscape. The development of “the second YUGAWARA” is rooted in the local culture of quiet, contemplative stays—a tradition of visiting to restore body and mind and to find clarity of thought.

■ About “ORO hotels” and “the second”
ORO hotels (https://oro-hotels.com) is a hospitality brand built around the concept of a “Journey of Discovery,” offering guest experiences rooted in the distinct contexts of nature, culture, and the city.
Within this brand, “the second” proposes a style of stay centered on the concept of a “journey to discover space for the self in everyday life,” inviting guests to spend their time autonomously amidst a quiet atmosphere. It offers a serene, refined experience where dignified spaces blend seamlessly with minimalist comfort. With understated service and architecture that harmonizes with nature, it creates a setting where guests can reclaim a sense of inner spaciousness and calm.
■ Future Outlook
We are currently advancing hotel development projects in various locations across Japan, including Atami, Hakuba, and Nikko. Moving forward, we will continue to develop and operate accommodation facilities that fuse design with a distinct philosophy, all while honoring the natural and cultural context of each region.
